Monthly Report
Gentlemen:
For September the AotP completed 3 battles, Maj. Gen. Osborne and Brig. Gen. Christian Hecht gaining Major Victories and
Col. Alvin Baker a Draw for a record of 2-0-1-0-0 making the army record for 2017 12-1-7-4-3.
OOB Changes
No OOB changes for September.
Awards
Maj. Gen. Osborne's 3 Major Victories represented half of the games completed by the AotP this quarter and
3/4 of it's victories and he is awarded the Sheridan Combat Medal.
Promotions
We still haven't heard anything from the Cabinet about Col Alvin Baker's promotion to Brigadier General.
Finally I wish to make a personal comment.
I have been a member of the ACWGC for 18 years having spent over 15 of those years in some form of administrative position.
I commanded the AotS and the AotP. I had the distinct pleasure of forming the VIII Corps,
leading it for 2 years and watching it grow into one of the finest commands in the ACWGC and
I also commanded 3 different divisions as well as spending 8 years at the Academy training some 38 cadets.
However all things must come to an end and I intend to go on the Reserve/Retired List at the end of 2017.
I bring this up now because for the past several years I have been serving as Chief of Staff and handling the AotP webpages for the last 3 army CO's.
If anyone is interested in the job I can provide copies of all the current webpages which you are free to use if you wish.
They have extensive notes throughout that should assist anyone with a basic knowledge of html code to maintain them as is and
naturally you would be free to change them as you saw fit provided you continue to provide recognition of previous work as I have done.
In addition I have several MS Word and Excel Files I developed as an Army CO and have used over the years to assist the Army CO
in preparing his reports.
These include an Excel file that can take the data from an Army Games Report at the DoR and determine which games qualify for a
Battle Ribbon and which ribbon it is. This file covers all but about 40 scenarios listed in the DoR and those that show Other or
Campaign Scenario in the Scenario block of the report.
Anyone with a basic knowledge of html who is interested in taking over the Chief of Staff position can contact myself, Gen. Osborne
or Gen. Meyer for further information.
